Dining on the Rocks

Yesterday we spoilt ourselves with dinner at Dining on the Rocks, the restaurant of Six Senses Hideaway Samui. This beautiful resort and spa is located on a headland on the northern tip of Samui Island and consists of 60 or so split level villas with private infinity edge swimming pools. Dining at the Rocks presents a new Asian style kitchen with influences from around the world. The architecture consists of nine terraced decks of weathered teak and bamboo combining open air and covered seating areas. The view is totally stunning - 270 degrees of the surrounding islands and Gulf of Siam. Images from Six Senses Hideaway Samui - mine unfortunatley came out too dark.

Christmas at Koh Samui

I'm spending Christmas at Koh Samui east of Thailand's mainland. Luckily Santa knew how to find his way even to this tropical paradise... Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

I won't be home for Christmas this year - and even though I'm going to spend two very longed-after weeks in the sun, I can't help feeling a bit sad not to decorate my home for the holidays. Here are some images from last Christmas.

Jennifer Rahfeldt

Jennifer Rahfeldt has worked as a multi-disciplinary artist since 1996. Her work has been dedicated towards exploring, combining and finding how separate artistic expressions such as sound, movement and visual art can work together on an equal level. In her imaginative, playful sculptures she melts metal into moulds and combines it with glass, iron-threads, plaster and mosaic, to achieve both delicate details and a strong construction. The sculptures are presented standing, hanging or as an installation.

Since 2001 Jennifer Rahfeldt has been operating Rahfeldt Studio in Höganäs, Sweden and from spring 2007 she is also working in a studio in Woodstock, New York.

More christmas shopping

And I bought a pair of ornament earrings for my sister (hope she doesn't read this blog) at Designtorget. On the web I found them at the nice shop Familjesmycken.

Christmas shopping

I went to buy Christmas presents today (along with everyone else in Stockholm…). To get in a Christmas mood I had to buy some things for myself as well. This is the ring I bought at Tjallamalla, a big red plexiglass ring shaped as a bow, a perfect accessory for the holidays.

Christmas flowers at Drottningholm

Drottningholm Palace just outside Stockholm holds its annual Christmas fair and shows a Christmas flower exhibition this week-end. Flowers fill the interiors and are arranged in beautiful groups in the halls and stairwells. Christmas-trees decorated in new and traditional ways and a flowering Christmas dinner-table are some of the highlights. Images from Blomsterfest.

Going to the chapel

Carrie Bradshaw's tumultuous love life has fascinated since Sex and the City debuted in 1998 - and now she is getting married. Or are these images from wedding scenes at New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral just a trick to hide the real plot of the coming film? Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing an extravagant strapless Vivienne Westwood gown and her traditional full length veil was trimmed with a giant turquoise feather in typically quirky Carrie Bradshaw style.

Take a look at Cornelia’s website if you haven’t discovered her beautiful jewellery yet. Her jewellery are both discrete and expressive at the same time and she is mixing gold and silver, red copper and yellow brass along with different pendants like shark teeth, hearts, revolvers and roses. In Stockholm you find them at Grandpa, NK and Le Shop.
